Recently going through DLP Dictionaries and policies, I came up with something called “External” under DLP engine in Policies.
Any idea what that means?
PS: I couldn’t find any engines like that under Administration > DLP Engines.
There are 2 types of DLP policies, with and without content inspection. DLP Engine “external” will show under dlp policies without content inspection. One use case would be to integrate with external dlp solutions like Symantec via ICAP, in this case we are doing dlp inspection while handing off the transaction to external dlp to do so hence dlp engine is marked as External.
Do we have any zscaler article on External DLP? it will be greatly appreciated.
There are many other articles available in help portal.
