High CPU consumption while listen to amazon music - Zscaler active

Hi everyone,

I have noticed that Zscaler consumes over 30% CPU and keeps the CPU usage to 100% while trying to listen to amazon music. The tracks on amazon are not played correctly and the sound gets continuously interrupted.

I am working at home and have a good connection bandwidth,

Any idea will be appreciated.

Best regards,
Paul

This sounds like a symptom to a problem you have and not the cause. We’ve seen this issue before when our end-point protection tool was interfering with traffic and almost causing the ZApp client to have to continually re-transmit causing CPU spikes.

What version of the client are you running and what tunnel mode?

Hi Gordon,
thanks for the support.
Here the info:

  • Zscaler App Version 2.1.2.92(231050)
  • Tunnel version v1.0

Sorry but I don’t know what the tunnel mode is. I attached an screenshots:

Best regards,
Paul

Our zScalerTunnel client app is taking up over 30% CPU resources right now as well but we are unsure of what’s causing it. Could you elaborate on the types of things you have seen that might cause the “app retransmit situation”? Also, a way to identify the “app retransmit situation” via the logs or otherwise would be helpful.

Hi everyone,
I also noted this behavior in MS Teams conferences with video or desktop presentation. In some cases the audio gets interrupted in a similar way as in amazon music.

Should I provide some logs?

BR.
Paul
