New "3005" error when using > ZCC 3.6?

Hi All,

Who else has seen this error ? (Post windows patching)
wmi_error_new

Symptoms are the same as the ZCC ‘3005’ error (WMI issue) but I thought I’ll ask the wider community.

Thank you
G

Yes, its 3005 error,
Put below script into a *.bat file and run it as Administrator.

@echo off

sc config winmgmt start= disabled

net stop winmgmt /y

%systemdrive%

cd %windir%\system32\wbem

for /f %%s in (‘dir /b *.dll’) do regsvr32 /s %%s

wmiprvse /regserver

winmgmt /regserver

sc config winmgmt start= auto

net start winmgmt

for /f %%s in (‘dir /s /b *.mof *.mfl’) do mofcomp %%s

Thanks Ramesh, do also see this after patching mainly?
Which version of ZCC are running ?

G

Yes, I was encountered this issues with 3.6.x version and 3.7.1.54

Thank you and yes we started seeing this new error since ZCC 3.7.1.54

Appreciate your feedback Ramesh !!

I’ll continue pushing our ER for ZDX to report/Alert us on this.

What is this script fixing?

See here: WMI: Rebuilding the WMI Repository - Microsoft Tech Community.

So underlying Windows WMI corruption is impacting the ZCC.

We have also started to see this after 3.7.2.18 64-bit.

We’ve seen a small number of clients (3.7.1.53) have issues. Less than 1%.

Thank you Everyone for the feedback !
We also see this for a very small percentage of our user base and investigating means to remotely resolve this.

Thanks again for the feedback

What MS patch do you think initiated the problem?
KB5017308?

Hi Gordon,

As you said less than 1% so I havent spent much time investigating root cause but looking to automate the remediation some how.
