Youtube Restricted Mode Bypass Safe Search

Hello,

I’m an IT Admin for a business that uses Zscaler. We have Enforce SafeSearch Enabled and it is intentionally causing YouTube to be forced into restricted mode. An employee requested a business related video be unblocked. We don’t require Youtube to be in restricted mode. My question is what is the best way to allow Youtube unrestricted while leaving Enforce SafeSearch enabled? I was exploring the possibility of a user defined URL Category and a URL filtering rule. So far that does not seem to be working. Please let me know if there is a better way to perform this functionality.

Thank you!

You can’t, it’s part of how Google reacts to when the browser is in safe search mode. All zia is doing is changing the traffic so that the browser believes safe search is enforced.

safesearch requires SSL inspection to work. If you create a SSL policy rule to disable inspection for this user and cloud app youtube, it should allow him to turn off restricted mode.

Hello,

Thank you for the advice. Creating an SSL Inspect rule that Bypasses Cloud App Youtube seemed to do what I wanted.

Thank you!

Yes, this is what we have done to get YouTube restricted mode to be turned off.

Hello all,
SSL Bypass workaround is not an acceptable response to this issue.
Nothing can be done for disabling safesearch only for youtube ?
