This session is from Zenith Live 2020:
Cybercriminals are stepping up activities: The Zscaler ThreatLabZ security research team reports increases in threat frequency and sophistication. Threat actors have evolved their methods, organizing hacking “gangs” to coordinate attacks, developing “ransomware-as-a-service” malware, even “double-dipping” stolen-data ransoms with both encryption and release threats. Their efforts have taken down entire enterprises, causing havoc and huge financial damage. But vulnerability doesn’t have to be an inevitability. In this session, Norsk Hydro’s head of network architecture Remarc Bognar joins Zscaler director of transformation strategy Tony Fergusson for an in-depth look at the cyber crime “kill chain,” including an overview of how ransomware groups infiltrate enterprise networks, move laterally to gain footholds, set up command and control positions, and then exfiltrate and encrypt data. They’ll share insights on how zero trust reduces attackable surface, and how SSL/TLS inspection plays a pivotal role in creating a strategic security and a resilient cyber response program.
